The monument is located at the perimeter wall of the farm building in Nový Dvůr, which served as a sub-camp of the Flossenbürg concentration camp during World War II. The area at the intersection of the streets Politických Vězňů and Madame Michelin is landscaped. The centrepiece of the site is a stone stele of black granite, which stands about 1.5 m from the wall. Its face is polished, while the rest of its surface is rough. The stele bears a multilingual inscription in gold. It stands on a plinth, the top of which is made of black granite and the bottom is pink plastered concrete. The area around the stele features concrete paving, connecting to the road. The pavement is lined with decorative shrubs. To the right of the stele, between the pavement and the shrubbery, a light-coloured stone is included. It bears a plaque stating that the stone came from the Flossenbürg concentration camp. There are two more plaques on the wall behind the stele. A small metal plaque on the left is dedicated to the Association of Deportees and Families of Missing Persons from the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp. The plaque on the right, which consists of an older and a newer part, commemorates the liberation of the camp on 5 May 1945 by Polish troops of the Swietokrzyska Brigade. Both memorial plaques on the wall bear the logos of the donor organisations.

During World War II, the farm in Nový Dvůr, located about 1 km north of the centre of Holýšov, served as a sub-camp of the Flossenbürg concentration camp. Between 600 and 700 women prisoners were held there, mainly from France, Poland and the Soviet Union. In the spring of 1945, approximately 400 women of Jewish origin were placed in the camp. The women prisoners were put to work in the nearby munitions factory of Metallwerke Holleischen GmbH. About 250 men were also held at the farm to carry out construction work.
Immediately after the end of World War II, a plaque was placed on the wall of the former camp with the handwritten text "Memorial plaque indicating that these buildings were a concentration camp for men and women of Soviet, Polish, Italian, French and Dutch nationality during World War II." Photographs of the original monument show that barbed wire was left in the section of the wall above the plaque.
In 1966, the original plaque was replaced with a glass plaque supplied by the Municipal Services Paint Shop. The text has remained unchanged.
In 2005, the memorial site was completely remodelled and landscaped. At the same time, the barbed wire was removed and the plaque on the wall was replaced by a freestanding stone stele made by Staňkov Stoneworks. In 2007, a smaller memorial plaque commemorating the liberation of the camp in May 1945 by the Polish troops of the Swietokrzyska Brigade, created by Vladislav Kačer, was installed on the wall. This plaque was later expanded with a text section. A metal plaque of the Association of Deportees and Families of Missing Persons from the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp was also placed on the wall. In 2010, a stone from the Flossenbürg concentration camp appeplatz was added to the site.
